SAIL TO CATALINA

We suggest Two Harbors, on the west end of the island, for those with an interest in nature / hiking.

For those more interested in shopping and a more urban setting, Avalon is a good option. Please note that Avalon is very busy during the summer, so we recommend the off-season (September to May) for overnights in Avalon.

Day 1 - Depart Marina del Rey at 8:30am | Relax and enjoy the majestic beauty of the ocean waves and coastlines of southern Los Angeles. Keep your eyes open to spot the Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Dolphins and countless bird species during the approx 5-6 hour sail (with a bit of motoring when needed.) Lunch and snacks enjoyed along the way. We’ll sail a bit of the Catalina Island coast and its numerous coves before picking up a mooring at one of the numerous coves around Two Harbors. (Note - moorings at Avalon are approx 7-8 hours from Marina del Rey.)

Once moored, it’s Play Time. Explore the beaches, Hike the trails.

Dinner ashore at local bar / restaurant. (dinner/drink costs paid directly to restaurant) Harbor Reef Restaurant serves dinner year round and offers a selection of quality food, including locally caught fish, steaks, signature burgers and more. Check out the world famous “Buffalo Milk” at the Harbor Reef Saloon.

Day 2 - Hike, Explore, Sail … you choose! Breakfast and lunch onboard with Dinner ashore (dinner/drink cost paid directly to restaurant) OR for an additional cost, we can provide a small Cobb BBQ Grill / GoSun Sport Marine Solar Oven (with 12v option for evening cooking) / JetBoil Genesis Basecamp (2 burner propane "stove")

Day 3 - Breakfast onboard then depart Catalina around 11am. Enjoy a relaxing mix of motor and sail back to Marina del Rey. Lunch and Snacks underway.

Sleeping accommodations available : 1 Queen bed in private Master Cabin / 1 Full/Queen bed on drop-down table in main cabin area / 2 single (twin size) private cabins. Captain & crew sleep out on deck.

Includes 2 Shore Boat rides per person on Day 1 & Day 2 - Round trip - from boat to shore with return to boat. Additional available @ $8 each way per person paid directly to Shore Boat. We do have a dingy available (with electric motor and/or oars) but we can only carry 2 passengers + captain per trip. The shore boat is the easiest and most efficient choice to get a group to shore.

Bed Linens, towels, etc are provided. Pots / pans / plates / cups / utensils are provided.

3 GoSun battery operated coolers are available. No ice needed.

Bring Your Own Adult Beverages (alcohol)

Showers available at on-shore facilities.

Two additional guests may be accommodated at additional charge.
